This is my playground. For me to throw all the different things I do out into the world.

Who am I?

(Co-Pilot auto generated this. But it is shockingly pretty accurate.)

I am a creative, a technologist, a musician, a writer, a developer, a maker, a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend, a mentor, a student, a teacher, a leader, a follower, a believer, a skeptic, a lover, a fighter, a traveler, a homebody, a Canadian, a Ugandan, a Gujarati, a Muslim, a human being.

I am first and foremost, a builder.

I build software, products, platforms (BIG ones) in Mobile, Enterprise, AI and Machine Learning, AR/VR. I build teams (of all shapes and sizes). I build communities (community over tribe always). I build the future (no joke - go check it out)

I built my first startup, a web design company, in 1996 . (1980 if you count the magic show my brother and I started)

I went to university for Computer Engineering to learn how to imagine BIG technology ideas to shape our future.

0-to-1, innovation
  • I built the UK's first Location based Club guide service - in 2001.
  • the first biometric based mobile wallet with PayPal and Samsung

Scale -- REALLY big Scale
  • Google Play Services - shipping to 2.5 Billion devices every 6 weeks (insanity scale)
  • Yahoo's Mobile Platform - the 3rd largest mobile platform in the world.

Global, distributed, remote
  • I launched postpaid and roaming services in Afghanistan only months into the reconstruction phase in 2003.
  • My teams have spanned the world - across the US, UK, France, Mexico, Brazil, India, Singapore, China - I know I have a place to stay almost anywhere!

But my secret life is one immersed in art.
Art is my life and always has been. Not pop art. Not in your face, checkmark, social proof seeking art.

The intangible art all around us. The art that we escape into when seeking solace and comfort. The place we transport to when in 'flow' and deep in a trance in the activity at hand.

In recent years, I have been shedding those layers of secrecy. I will continue to build. I will continue to make. I will proudly boast that my products HAVE BEEN AND ARE Art. A fully immersed life of Art has always been my ambition.

Why Amiga?

Well, the Amiga wasn't my first experience with a computer (that would be a massive Fortran machine at my mom's job in the late 70s, and then after that, we had a TRS-80 at home), but it was the first computer where I would spend endless hours playing and learning on. It made me the 'cool kid' where, before getting to high school and distracted by so many other things, my friends and I would spend endless hours, months, and even years creating music, playing games, and learning how to program.

In recent years as I've been jumping back in deep into my creative world, I have had moments of sheer joy which has reminded me of those Amiga days.
